Candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, in the March 9, 2019, governorship contest in Imo State, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has described as embarrassing and utmost ridiculous a Newspaper report that he has joined in a suit instituted against governor Hope Uzodimma by one Philip Ezebuilo Umeadi, saying he can never join Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as that would be anti – party.
The obviously angry Nwosu said he is still a strong member of All Progressives Congress, APC, and cannot do anything against the interest of the party. He stressing that as a strong believer in party supremacy and discipline, the interest of APC is always paramount in his decisions.
Nwosu called on media houses to stop sensationalism with his name, saying whenever he wishes to voice on any issue, he has his established channels.
It could be recalled that Umeadi of No 2 Ezebuilo Umeadi Arive, GRA Onitsha Anambra State, had on a suit brought before the Supreme Court of Nigeria sought an order that both the Action Alliance, AA, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, did not sponsor and/ or field any candidate for the governorship election held in Imo State on 9th March, 2019 in view of the double nomination of the Appellant / Respondent (Uche Nwosu) by the two political parties and his subsequent disqualification, as their gubernatorial candidate as found by the Supreme Court in the judgement delivered on 20th December, 2019 which is Exhibit “PDPs”.
Umedi also sighted an order further directing INEC to issue a certificate of Return to the gubernatorial candidate of PDP, Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as the duly elected governor of Imo State, having scored the second highest number of votes in the last election, among other reliefs.
