The South-East Governors have waded into the rift between the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and the Anambra-born billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze.

The Governors have mandated the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo,Chief Nnia Nwodo, to meet with the two prominent Igbo leaders over the misunderstanding and with a view to amicably resolving it.

Recall that the two prominent sons of Alaigbo have been engaging themselves in media war recently.

The Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, disclosed this in Abakalik while briefing Journalists shortly after their virtual meeting with other Igbo leaders.

He said the meeting noted that the two were illustrious sons of Igboland and should cease fire.

He said: “The meeting requested the President of Ohanaeze to meet with Prince Arthur Eze and Senator Anyim Pius Anyim to mediate between two of them.

“The meeting directed that both illustrious sons of Alaigbo should ceasefire. And we appeal to you not to give life to this little misunderstanding between these two brothers”.

The Governors who also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for funding the second Niger bridge and the Enugu International Airport renovation projects said the August 30 restart of the Airport is on course, while the Niger bridge is due for completion in 2022.

According to Gov Umahi, the forum also agreed to unveil the name of a joint security outfit of the region during their next meeting.

The forum also said it will engage the contractor handling the Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna gas pipeline to ensure the Southeast is integrated into the project

“Since the pipelines are going to come from the South South and southeast, we feel the states in the region should also benefit. So we are also engaging the federal government on this”, Umahi said.
