The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Imo State has faulted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for electing, Engr. Charles Ugwu as its State Chairman.

In a statement signed by Chilagorom Ifeanyi, Director General, New Media, APGA, Imo State, Sunday, he said the election of 77 year old Ugwu as state Chairman, is a slap on the future of Imo youths in the party.

“I see some youths celebrating the emergence of Engr. Charles Ugwu as the new Imo PDP Chairman and I sincerely ask: What does the future hold for Imo youths?

“If some of these youths are reasonable enough, are they supposed to celebrate or be angry? The big problem in Imo State is that some of our youths have no vision at all.

“Let us just check on the State Chairmen of every political party in Nigeria, especially in Imo State.

“Does it mean PDP has no vibrant, wise/intelligent, loyal, dedicated, financially balance and faithful party members in their 30s, 40s and 50s to lead the party in Imo State? As a matter of fact my fellow Imo and Nigerian youths, something is very wrong!

“To change the entire failed system, we must start by giving vote of no confidence to the older generation, because they had their chance and wobbled badly. Lots of them have really shown they have little or nothing to offer. Must we allow them continue to recycle same old people? What does the future really hold for Imo and Nigerian youths?

The party queried how Engr. Ugwu will manage the party.

“Where exactly will a 77 years old Engr. Ugwu lead Imo PDP to? As it stands at the moment, he will still employ same rejected youths to help him run around to put things in order. No matter his wealth, does a 77 years old man have the needed strength/energy to lead a state political party in this 21st century?

“Meanwhile, Ambrose Nwogwugwu is good enough to make noise on social media and go to prison on their behalf and he still sees nothing wrong with it. Why do the youths always allow themselves to be used as unsharpened knife to cut hard/stubborn grasses? As a matter of fact, our youths should wake up! Instead of any reasonable youth to celebrate at the moment, he/she should cry deeply. Yes! It is rather unfortunate.” the statement concluded
