Daniel Nwafor who recently recorded victory in court against Governor Hope Uzodinma led faction of the All Progressives Congress APC has given a tough condition for aspirant of the Imo North Senatorial seat.

In a press release signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, the aspirants were warned to avoid having anything to do with the Marcellinus Nlemigbo led faction, adding that their nomination will come to void if such happens.

IMPORTANT ADVISORY TO ASPIRANTS FOR OKIGWE SENATORIAL BYE-ELECTION

Following the release of a harmonized timetable for the conduct of all pending elections in the country by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and ongoing preparations for the conduct of Party primaries by the National Caretaker Committee of our great Party, the following advisory to genuine MEMBERS of our Party, who wish to contest the upcoming election on our Party’s platform;

  1. Only members who registered with their authentic ward leadership shall be eligible to contest the election on our Party’s platform. For the avoidance of doubts, the only authentic ward executive recognized by law are those produced during the July 20th 2018 ward congress of our Party.
  2. The only authentic and duly recognized officials of the All Progressives Congress in Imo State are those under the chairmanship of Hon. Daniel Madueke Nwafor, and any official endorsements, correspondences and directives not routed through them is invalid and will not stand the slightest judicial interrogation.
  3. Only MEMBERS of the Party who are up-to-date in the payment of Party subscriptions, dues and levies, as provided for in our Party’s Constitution shall be deemed eligible to be nominated by our Party. Party subscriptions are paid at the ward level.
  4. The State Executive Committee of the Party is yet to reach a decision on the preferred modality to be suggested to the National Working Committee of our Party for the primaries, hence, aspirants are advised to ignore any information to the contrary.
  5. Neither the State Working Committee nor the State Executive Committee, two organs with the responsibility to organize the Party and take final decisions on behalf of the Party in the State, has set up any Committee for any purpose as long as the Okigwe Senatorial bye-election is concerned. Therefore, any aspirant submitting him or herself to any committee for the purpose of choosing a consensus candidate, does so at his or her own risk.
  6. The All Progressives Congress in Imo State is determined to avert any situation that may expose the Party to legal traps that may rob us of our mandate after the elections, hence, we have initiated and maintained correspondences with the Extraordinary Caretaker Committee of our Party, to advise as well as intimate them on the standings of those who may be parading themselves as aspirants for the upcoming election.
  7. Aspirants are also encouraged to intensify consultations with grassroots members of our Party and also to make deliberate efforts to ensure that the Party is made popular at the grassroots.
