Plans have been concluded for a webinar that will prepare youths and entertainers in Imo State for the post covid-19 era, according to Hon. Bobby Uchechukwu Michaels, the Special Adviser on Entertainment to Imo State Governor.

The webinar tagged ‘Imo State Youthpreneurs Engagement in the Entertainment and Creative Industry – Post Covid-19’ will be held via online meeting platform Zoom, on Thursday, September 24, 2020 by 4:00PM.

According to Hon. Michaels, the event is a product of a collaboration with the office of the Special Adviser on Skill Acquisition headed by Hon. Chidiebere Godswill Onyebuchi, alongside Agrafair-Iral, the conveners of the programme.

Hon. Bobby Michaels who is the chief host, further stated that the event is timely as the world is bracing up for the new normal, adding that everyone has to do what they can do to stay relevant in the new reality the world has come to know.

“We’re in a tough time and the transition to what used to be normal will not happen overnight. No one knows when it will be so we have to start preparing for first of all, making the best out of the present situation and secondly, being ready for when Covid-19 pandemic will be over globally”

Also speaking to www.otowngist.com, Njideka Anyanwu, the President Agrafair-Iral, said the aim of the programme is to train youths on how to go forward in the post covid-19 era and the caliber of speakers lined up for the event will share from their wealth of knowledge and experiences in life.

“We chose Youthpreneurs because any county that is not harnessing the potentials of their youths is sitting on a keg of gunpowder. This aspect is often ignored in Nigeria, because most youths have some special skills but do not know how to harness them. If we start engaging them, they will make a lot of sense out of their lives”

“We’ll also be teaching participants how to collaborate, because it is very important in life. One man’s business never goes far, but when you have exceptional people coming together to something, it is always loud”, she said.

Njideka Anyanwu further stated that the basic thing will be knowledge before money, because people with money and no single knowledge of how to spend it, end up wasting it.

“Participants will get to learn the basics of selling their works from the comfort of their homes” she added.

Speakers at the at the September 24th programme include, Enyinna Nwigwe, Mike Godson, Anthony Manjaro, Chief Kingslee Okafor,  Harry B. Anyanwu, Amb. Longinus Anokwute (Chief Imo), Teena Ogbugoh and ace Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw.
