A woman, Ugochi Joseph Ugwuegbulem has said that despite saving the lives of two soldiers during the EndSARS protests, her husband ended up being shot by other soldiers, Ubomiri, in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State.

Mrs. Ugochi Joseph Ugwuegbulem who hails from Umuototo Ụmụọcha Ubomiri, in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, said that her husband Onyinyechi Joseph Ugwuegbulem, who died on Wednesday October 21, 2020 did nothing wrong, and was only trying to ensure the soldiers who ran to them for cover were safe.

Onyinyechi Joseph Ugwuegbulem, who died from the violence which consumed the EndSARS protest at Y-Junction Ubomiri, in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, was the buried the following day, with the wife left with their children in an uncompleted building, helpless in both finding justice and support.

She lamented that the death of her husband has left her alone with 6 kids, including her last daughter whom she gave birth to, just two weeks after her husband died.

So far she has called Army Headquarters Abuja to report her matter and was promised a callback, which is yet to be fulfilled.
