Nigerian author and poet Ifésinàchi Nwádikè has emerged the first runner up at the Poetry Prize organized by the Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA.

Ifésinàchi Nwádikè who is an illustrous son of Agwa community in Oguta LGA, Imo State won the ANA prize with his debut collection of Poetry “How morning remembers the night”

The announcement was made during the Association’s 39th International convention at Kwara state, Ilorin on the 5th of December,2020.


Ifésinàchi Nwádikè holds a Masters Degree in Literature from the University of Ibadan. It is worthy to mention that he had his first degree in the department of English and Literary Studies, Imo state University and has held several positions in students unionism as an Imo Star.


In an interview he had with the press men after hearing the announcement of the award , Nwádikè revealed that he was exposed early to Literature and mother’s influence played role in his drive for writing Poetry.

” her remarkable ability to fine-tune her words with ancient proverbs fascinated me and when once I discovered that Literature can give me room to do same, I fell helplessly in love with the art.” he added.


The Imolite confessed that the award of his debut is a nod of encouragement and a sign of good things to come. He further explains that he expects nothing other to serving Literary lovers a new addition to their libraries and that if the themes of the book is able to effect a change, ” alleluia, “the poet echoed.


Ifésináchi Nwadike’s works have featured in Ake Review, ANA Review, NOKOKO, Praxis and other international magazines and journals.

He is not just a scholar but also a Media Personality, haven being a Radio Presenter, YouTuber and Blogger and Master Compere at different times.


Indeed, Ifésináchi Nwádikè has made his Alma Maters, family and the entire Imolites proud.
