The Imo State Chapter of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network has inaugurated her 2021 Executive Council in Imo State.
The event which was held virtually saw the newly elected executive commissioned to work for the next 365 days, as they were charged to lift the banners of the Network in the state.
Moderating the event, Dr. Obinna Ebirim called on the new leaders to succeed, adding that he believes in the qualities of the individual in the group.
Barr. Funke Adeoye who conducted the inauguration ceremony on behalf of the US Consulate, also challenged the new Executive Council to succeed, calling on members to demonstrate the commitment that will ensure that they support and encourage the new leaders.
Also speaking at the virtual ceremony, the outgoing Coordinator of the hub, Mr. Esiobu Nnaemeka Success said that limited people are privileged enough to understand the responsibility of the volunteering role, calling on the new Executive Council never to give up.
“There will be hard times and criticism. A lot of people whom you relied upon will fail you surely. But don’t give up”
“You have 365 days for you and your team to make a positive difference in this great hub and I trust you will do that. No matter what comes, you will be inspired by the character and compassion of the people you now lead. I wish you the best of the best”
The inaugurated leaders are:
- Nwadike Chinedu Hardy – Coordinator
- Nnorom Precious Akachukwu – Deputy Coordinator
- Ubah Chiamaka Peace – General Secretary
- Izuogu Afoma Paschaline – Financial Secretary
- Amaefule Chukwubuikem Felix – Program Manager
- Ndubuisi Blessing Chinedu – PRO & Social Media Manager
In his acceptance speech, the new State Coordinator, Mr. Chinedu Hardy Nwadike said that they will carry out the task, doing their best to create a Network where the next administration can thrive.
He said that their administration will work with a people-oriented blueprint that will ensure that they will raise campaigns to make impacts on the society as well as others to prepare members for great opportunities ahead.
“We will raise campaigns to make impacts in society and we will raise more to teach ourselves because it is not just about having great opportunities but also being prepared for them”
The group is charged to pilot the affairs of the Network till February 2022, with volunteering being the heartbeat of the Network.
