The entire Nollywood is in shock as armed gunmen attacked and abducted actor, movie director and producer Chibuzor Simon Emele popularly known by the name of his company, Pressing Forward Movies in a movie location.
The incident took place at Umuduru Ekwe in Isu Local Government of Imo State on Saturday afternoon according to the state chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN in the state, Lady Nneoma Ukpabi.
Nneoma Ukpabi speaking to OtownGist said that the gunmen shot at Chibuzor’s car before whisking him away to an unknown destination, adding that everyone at the Isu LGA movie location is presently in shock.
she pleaded with law enforcement agents to do everything possible to have their colleague released in one piece, saying that something has to be done about the spate of insecurity in the state.
“Previously we were complaining that the fear in the state will not let us go about our normal businesses, now we are being targeted, which means something has to be done urgently to safeguard the lives of entertainers on duty as well as Imolites in general”, she said.
Previously, Nneoma Ukpabi had called for peace in the state, pleading that everyone sheath their swords to restore Imo State to nightlife and entertainment capital of Nigeria it used to be.
So far, no one knows the reason for the abduction of Chibuzor Simon Emele popularly known as pressing forward and no demands have been made.
