The Osun Progressives (TOP), a group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has revealed that it contested and won in 28 local governments in the just concluded local government congress of the party in the State.

In a press release signed by its Chairman, Adelowo Adebiyi and made available to DAILY POST, he said delegates of the APC elected as executives in the last ward congress came out on Saturday to elect their party officials at their various local governments.

Expressing happiness at the large turn out of party members for the local government congress, Adebiyi described it as impressive and noted that the huge turnout was a signpost of the desire of members to recreate the party for a more useful purpose and take it away from the near abyss in which it had been taken recently.

The former Osun APC chairman who thanked the group members for sharing in the laudable desire to reinvigorate the APC so that it will stand the test of time, also stated that the aim of TOP is to be an election winner.

The TOP Chairman congratulated the group for outsmarting the IleriOluwa group which he disclosed had the backing of the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, outgoing executives and the Elegbeleye congress committee.

He accused Gbenga Elegbeleye of being a purchased character, adding that it was not a surprise that his committee carried out the hatchet job for which they were procured in both the Osun APC ward and local government congress affair.

Noting that Elegbeleye’s antics will soon come to naught when truth confronts it, Adebiyi maintained that his conduct will be his future albatross as Karma will surely catch up with him.
