Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said the All Progressives Congress, APC, would support the presidential ambition of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
Sule said APC would support Osinbajo if he declares interest to contest for the president in 2023.
The governor spoke while recieving
members of the Progressives Consolidation Group (PCG) in Lafia, the state capital on Monday.
He described Osinbajo as a very sellable candidate for the APC, ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.
Sule noted that the Vice President would help preserve APC’s legacies after President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office.
He said: “Our concern is how we will sustain the party beyond President Buhari. So, if you come up with the idea, you know you will not only get my attention but the attention of every progressive governor in the country.
“So, if you are going about to sell this man, I want you to know that not every product is sellable but Osinbajo is sellable.
“I pray that all the work you are doing now will not be in vain. It will be good for our party and the progress of this country.”
There are rumours that Osinbajo may declare his interest to run in 2023.
His silence over these claims are anchored on his loyalty to Osinbajo and the APC.
It is alleged that Osinbajo may run if APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu decides against pushing through his presidential ambition.
