Osita Okechukwu, Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON), has advised the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to join the Ohanaeze Ndigbo to seek political solution regarding Nnamdi Kanu’s release.
He opined this would help the South-East pursue its presidential ambition.
Okechukwu gave the advise on Sunday in a chat with reporters in Enugu.
“IPOB should join Prof. George Obiozor-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo to kill two birds with one stone”, he counseled.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain said shutting down states would cause more loss of lives.
Okechukwu warned that such would also lead to poverty, underdevelopment and stagnation of the region’s economy.
“Working with Ohanaeze for political solution is not cowardice, but pragmatic and the home-bitter truth solution.”
Okechukwu said though people share IPOB’s agitation for secession, Igbo people had passed the road of civil war.
“While shutting down is happening, the Yorubas and others are yearning to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The pragmatic route is political solution in collaboration with the Ohaneze, let’s sheath our swords”, the VON chief appealed.
