The Government Imo State led by Governor Hope Uzodinma has clarified the error in some media publications painting the Government of Imo State and President Muhammadu Buhari in bad light with respect to the Nekede / Ihiagwa / Obinze road.
The 3R government while reacting to the reports in Owerri on Tuesday said,” for clarity sake, the road in question was awarded in phases, and phase one has been completed and commissioned while construction work on the next phase (Phase Two) would commence after the rains and subsequently, the last phase.”
According to shared prosperity source,”While the Government feels the hardship and pains experienced by the residents and road users at phases two and three of the road, it’s improper and unpatriotic for anyone to falsely propagate that the Nekede / Ihiagwa / Obinze road has not received Government’s attention.”
“Imo State Government has continued to improve on the state of our infrastructure and it would touch every corner,” the statement said.
Recall that some residents during the commissioning ceremony of phase 1 of Nekede, Ihiagwa, Obinze 14KM road connecting two federal institutions and three communities in the area said, “Gov Uzodinna has fulfilled his promise to the people of Owerri West. ”
The Member Representing Owerri West State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi said many people doubted that it will not be possible when I prophesized this last rainy season, but our governor has restored the confidence of our people today.”
The IMHA Majority Leader assured that Phase Two of the 3R government project would commence after the rains.
