The Governor of Abia State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Campaign Council for 2021 Anambra Governorship Election, Okezie Ikpeazu, has tasked the people of Anambra State to brace up and lead the charge in recovering Anambra for the PDP in the forthcoming November 6 election in the state.
Ikpeazu also noted that the people of Anambra have a duty to protect their votes, and stressed that a win for the PDP in the Anambra election will symbolize a turning point in the country and the hope that a greater Nigeria under the PDP will resonate again.
He spoke during a strategy meeting of the PDP National Campaign Council for Anambra Gubernatorial Election hosted in his Umuobiakwa country home in Obingwa local government area of Abia State.
This was disclosed in a release by Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Chief Press Secretary to the Abia Governor, and issued to journalists in Umuahia on Monday.
Continuing, Governor Ikpeazu further noted that the PDP has not won election into the Anambra Government House for a long time, stating that, this has led to despondency among the people.
He added that the story has to change, as the party is strategically poised to win the coming gubernatorial poll in Anambra state to provide good governance to the people.
The Chairman of the PDP National Campaign Council however promised to mobilize the other Governor of the Southeast and other leaders in the region, for there to be peaceful elections in Anambra, and as well as for the party to emerge victorious.
At the strategic meeting, the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate in Anambra State, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his immense support and assured that the party has all it takes to win the forthcoming election as it is on the ground and intends to make Ndi Anambra proud.
In a vote of thanks, the chairman of PDP in Anambra State, Mr. Ndubuisi Nwobu appreciated Governor Ikpeazu for hosting the meeting and for his immense support for the gubernatorial candidate.
He reassured that no stone will be left unturned with a view to securing total victory for the Peoples Democratic Party.
Highlights of the meeting were the announcement of the sub-committees of the campaign Council while the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, Senate Minority leader Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Chairman of the Anambra State PDP Campaign Council, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Secretary of the National Campaign Council and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka.
Others are former Minister of Environment and Member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Mrs Laurentia Mallam; Abia State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Obinna Nwachukwu, amongst other dignitaries attended the meeting.
