Governor Gboyega Oyetola has charged Nigerian higher institutions to wake up from their slumber and brace up to their responsibilities to rescue the nation by bridging the gaps of palpable technology-based deficits.
Oyetola, while speaking at the 7th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the 2019/2020 And 2020/2021 Sessions and Award of Certificates, Diplomas and Prizes of the Osun College of Technology, Esa-Oke, Osun, tasked Nigerian Universities, Colleges and other institutions on academic excellence and advancement of technology-driven innovations.
This is as the graduands were charged to apply the entrepreneurial skills acquired in the intitution in all they do after graduation.
Oyetola described education as an unquantifiable legacy and the bedrock of socioeconomic development, urging them to invest more in research, innovations and entrepreneurial skills to drive their vision to fruition.
According to him, “the nation has been looking forward to Universities and Colleges of Technology to win the ongoing war against unemployment.”
Oyetola, however, urged the young graduates to use their innate talents, combine with the kernels of character, knowledge and entrepreneurship acquired to impact and transform the country.
The Governor said his administration “would continually make provisions for educational institutions and continue to support them within the available resources to accomplish their vision.”
Earlier, the Rector of the institution, Dr. Samson Adegoke, in the same vein, charged the graduands to apply the entrepreneurial skills acquired in all they do after their graduation.
