The South-East All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidency Project says the victory of Chukwuma Soludo in the Anambra governorship election affirms the strength of his party.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate won 19 out of 21 local government areas with 112,229 votes.

Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 53,807 votes.

Andy Uba (APC) scored 43,285 votes; while Ifeanyi Uba of Young Peoples Party (YPP) got 21,261 votes.

Chinedu Jideofo-Ogbuagu, the APC group Coordinator, congratulated the contestants he described as heroes of democracy.

Advising those defeated to accept in good faith, he stressed that the battle has been won and lost.

“We see a reasonable reflection of the known balance of party strengths in Anambra”, NAN quoted as saying.
