Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, has said that the recent directives by Governor Nasir El-Rufai to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state is in the best interest of the public.

The Speaker, making his view known through his Special Adviser on Health, SDGs and NGOs, Dr. Halimah Nuhu, in a statement said that the measures would not just save lives but also protect the state’s economy.

“The directive that from November 1, only those with proof of vaccination against COVID-19 will be allowed access to government offices is a welcome development.”

The statement explained that it would further lead to the protection of the populace from the dangers of COVID-19 and its attendant financial draining of the state’s resources that goes to the treatment of infected patients.

The Speaker, therefore, charged all residents of the state to ensure they get vaccinated to protect themselves and others from infection of the deadly virus.

The statement hailed Governor El-Rufai for being proactive in protecting the lives of citizens of the state and appealed that the COVID-19 vaccine should be made accessible in all parts of the state for people to be vaccinated.
