A 28-year-old woman, Mrs. Onyiyechi Akujobi Okeahialam, from Imo State, has retracted the derogatory statements she once made against her husband, Eng. Napoleon Okeahialam Onyebilama on the national dailies.
Recall that Onyiyechi had raised an alarm, accusing her husband, Engr. Onyebilama of endangering her life and that of their three kids.
Onyiyechi, whose divorce case with Onyebilama was said to be ongoing at a Customary Court in Abia State, Uzoakoli, further accused her husband, (now erstwhile-husband) of forcibly taking their children from her.
Mr. Napoleon Onyebilama had also denied all the allegations describing them as false.
However, she has now retracted all the allegations against Mr. Napoleon in a statement she entitled, ‘retraction on Re-my-children-and-i-are-in-danger.’
Her statement of retraction forwarded to DAILY POST on Thursday, said, “With reference to the publication titled ‘my-children-and-i-are-in-danger-woman-cries-out-as-estranged-husband-demands-custody’, published in Daily Post on May 6, 2021, I, Mrs. Onyinyechi Akujobi hereby retract the content of the publication.
“I hereby tender unreserved apology to my Ex- husband, Engr. Napoleon Okeahialam Onyebilama, children, in-laws, friends and family members for any embarrassment arising from the publication.
“Additionally, I hereby publicly affirm that my Ex-husband was duly married to me traditionally, if not so, there would not be need for divorce in the customary court.
“Lastly, I acknowledge publicly the kindness of my Ex-husband towards me and personally ask for his forgiveness for any misinformation in the aforementioned publication.
“I promise to desist from any act or utterance that will malign his reputation or portray false accusation against him forthwith.”
