The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has provided latest figures on fresh registration for voter’s card.

The ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), which commenced on June 28 hit 4, 297, 494 yesterday.

The commission made the announcement in the weekly update of second quarter-week seven.

As at 7a.m. on Monday, November 22, 1,856,771 persons have completed their online and physical registration.

Gender breakdown of the citizens show 941,098 males, 915,673 females.

Also, 741,183 persons completed their registration online, 1,115,588 completed through physical registration.

The online pre-registration is for 18-year-olds upwards and voters who had problems during accreditation in previous elections, with their PVC or fingerprint.

Others are voters who want to transfer their voting location; whose PVC are lost/damaged; or want to correct their data – misspelt names, dates of birth.
