Spokesman of Katsina Police Command, Superintendent Isiah Gambo, Thursday evening, paraded two suspects at the state headquarters before pressmen for defrauding unsuspecting members of the public of their hard earned money with sales of fake plots of lands and employment letters.

The two suspects were identified as Ibrahim Bello 44, alias “Ibra”, of Saulawa Quarters, Katsina and Ibrahim Abdullahi 50, alias “Baba Iro”, of Unguwar Yari Quarters.

The hoodlums through one Musa Abba currently at large, lured 34 years old Khadija Adamu of Kofar-Sauri Quarters in Katsina metropolis and succeeded in convincing her that they are important personalities from Abuja and they can help her secure jobs in several ministries, departments and agencies of the federal government.

The suspects confessed to have at various intervals, deceitfully collected not less than N12 million naira from Khadija, with intent to provide her with mouth-watering jobs.

“We are facilitators. We help people to get jobs. We collected over N12 million from Khadija through one Musa Abba to help her secure jobs with the Nigeria Custom Service, ECOWAS and many other government MDA’s but eventually we failed to so we offered her fake employment letters,” One of them said.

In the course of investigation, the police investigation team recovered fake employment letters and various letterhead papers belonging to several government and corporate organizations in their possessions.

However, only the sum of N600,000 our of over N12 million they defrauded was recovered from the suspects.

SP. Isah, standing in for the Police Commissioner, said job seekers are advised to desist from offering money to buy jobs as it is illegal and any one caught will be dealt with according to the law.
