Manchester United have made the first approach for Mauricio Pochettino, current coach of Paris Saint Germain, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Pochettino is the club’s first choice to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was dismissed last Sunday.

United have put Michael Carrick in temporary charge, while they continue to look for an interim boss to see out the remainder of this season.

But Pochettino is believed to be open to a move to Old Trafford mid-season as he is unhappy in Paris, where he lives in a hotel room while his family resides in London.
