Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain manager, Mauricio Pochettino can do more with the Red Devils squad than his current team.

Owen said this while speaking on reports linking Pochettino with a move to Manchester United.

Pochettino has been heavily linked with a move to coach Man United since the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last weekend.

The Argentine is said to be a strong favourite to succeed Solskjaer as permanent manager, but his contract with PSG will expire in June 2023.

Speaking on BT Sport, Owen said: “I think Poch [Mauricio Pochettino] can probably do more with the Manchester United team than he can the PSG team.

“The PSG team picked themselves, but can you mould them into a winning team? I’m not sure. I think you can with Manchester United.”

“Poch is a fascinating one. Manchester United could have had him for nothing a few months ago and now they are going to have to pay an absolute fortune to get him out of PSG and nothing has changed at Manchester United.”
