Christians in Nigeria have been enjoined to arm themselves with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the forthcoming general elections.

Giving this advice, the presiding pastor of Chapel of Mercy International Church, Okinni, Osun State, Victor Bajulaye, also advised that rather than sitting down and complaining about the nation’s challenges, Christians should get involved in the electoral processes.

Giving the charge on the sideline of a programme organised in Osogbo on Monday by Awesome God, an annual praise platform, Bajulaye, who is also the Director, Politics and Governance, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Osun State Chapter, explained that a voter card is the only veritable tool through which an electorate’s voice can be heard, and not be disenfranchised.

In his words, “We need to encourage others to get their permanent voter’s cards at any INEC offices, which will be used to cast their votes.”

The cleric, while citing Biblical references, called on Nigerians to continue praying for their leader for wisdom to rule and lead the people aright.

“The Bible states that we should pray for our leaders and that we must support them to succeed and our land shall be blessed,” he added.

The convener of the event, Mrs Aderonke Abokede stated that the reason for the programme was to appreciate God for his love and faithfulness in the lives of the participants.
