An Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo has struck out the Stay of Execution order restraining the State government from going ahead with installing a candidate from the Obaara and Adedeji ruling houses to the Akinrun Stool.

The restraining order is coming after two weeks that an Osun High Court in Ikirun restrained both the state government and Obaara ruling house from going ahead with the installation of Prince Yinusa Olalekan Akadiri who was approved by the Ikirun kingmakers as the next Akirun of Ikirun land.

In his ruling on Wednesday, Justice Jide Falola had dismissed the application sought by Gboleru ruling house on the basis of it being frivolous, immature and lacking in merit.

DAILY POST recalls that the order to stop the selection of new Akirun from Obaara and Adedeji ruling houses was sought by the Gboleru ruling house.

After the demise of Akinrun Adedeji, the next ruling house to the stool is the Gboleru ruling house, but infighting amongst members had stalled the selection process.

Justice Jide Falola had earlier in another ruling directed the Obaara ruling house to go ahead and produce the next Akinrun and for the Osun State Government to approve any candidate brought forth for the stool by the Ikirun kingmakers. This was due to the inability of the Gboleru ruling house to present a candidate for the vacant stool.

The Ikirun kingmakers had gone ahead to approve the candidacy of Prince Yinusa Akadiri after the court ruling.

Gboleru ruling house approached another Osun High Court sitting in Ikirun and an exparte motion was granted for the government to stay execution on the approval of the process and subsequent announcement of Kadiri as the new Akinrun of Ikirun.
