Belgian youngster, Charly Musonda has decided to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
The player was in tears as he spoke with The Beautiful Game Podcast for the first time since announcing that he will be leaving Stamford Bridge when his contract ends.
The Belgian youngster was broken emotionally as he could not cope with the rejection he suffered at the club.
Musonda has been at the club for years but was sent out on loan three times during that period, and never truly made his mark in the Chelsea first team.
Speaking, Musonda recalled the phone call where he was aware that his time at the club was coming to an end and admitted that he cried about it for a long time afterwards.
“After the phone call, I was crying for a long time. The Chelsea fans have been great. They have been more than I ever expected,” he said.
The Belgian, who has not played a match of competitive football for two seasons as he recovers from injury, took to Instagram in November to confirm that he will be leaving the club upon the expiry of his contract in June 2022.
