Nigeria has confirmed 47 new cases of the deadly coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC confirmed the cases on Friday via its official Facebook page.

The NCDC explained that the new cases were recorded in “Plateau-16, FCT-8, Rivers-8, Gombe-4, Kaduna-4, Edo-3, Kano-3, Bauchi-1.”“Today’s report includes: 8 cases and 7 recoveries reported from Rivers state for 1st (5) and 2nd (3) Dec,16 cases reported from Plateau state are for 1st (16) Dec 2021, 0 cases from Sokoto State,” the NCDC added.

These latest figures bring the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 214,317 with 207,357 discharged and 2,978 COVID-19 related deaths.
