Organizers of Imo Unity Award have revealed that the event is strictly for the celebration of the greatness of Imo and accomplishments of Imolites across sectors.
The event which is organized by Sempe Obodo Production (SOP) is billed for December 19, 2021 with awards in 22 different categories up for grab.
Speaking to OtownGist, the CEO of SOP Group, Mr. Sylvanus Ujunwa Nwogu popularly known as Sempe said that they want the award to be a uniting platform for Imolites irrespective of their social, economic, religious and political alignment.
He said that there are a lot of things driving people in today’s world but when it comes down to our common goals, we are all the same.
“We are all the same when you critically look at things. Irrespective of our social, economic, religious and political inclination, we all want a better Imo state. If we all truly want what is best for Imo then we are absolutely one”
“The award is designed to bring everyone together under one roof; to celebrate our accomplishments and our unity which is the foundation of our Imo State Dream, if we have to achieve it. Our idea is to change the story of Imo State for the better with this brand”, he said.
Mr. Nwogu said that the award has been designed with transparent processes so that only those who have made people-oriented accomplishments can emerge.
He added that the nomination process is clear and open as well as the voting process, adding that the plan is to give power to the people as it is supposed to be.
The event will also witness the crowning of Queen Imo 2021 with December 19 set to be lit with entertainment and celebrations of the best of the best sons and daughters of Imo State at Swiss International Beland Hotel off Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, Imo State.
The event kicks off by 2:00PM after the red carpet in what is expected to be a day of glamour in Owerri the capital city of Imo State.
