Families waited in frigid temperatures and long lines that wrapped around the block on Sunday afternoon to receive goodies for the city’s youth. While he’s the face of the extravagant giveaway, Meek isn’t the only contributor. Along with his DreamChasers organization, the rapper also tapped on Roc Nation, Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to bring the event to life.

One resident interviewed by NBC Philadelphia praised Meek’s efforts for the community.

“I appreciate it because it’s real inspirational to the youth because there’s a lot going on right now and it’s a lot of killing going on right now,” Saeed Huntley who hails from South Philly said. “But it’s like he’s really helping. It’s real inspirational and I appreciate it.”
