The Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of
two suspected water pump cable vandals.
The State Commandant, Ugwuja Edwin, who made the confirmation while parading the suspect at the state command headquarter, said both suspects were arrested on Christmas Eve in Jalingo.
The command also paraded other suspects nabbed in connection with other crimes.
Narrating how the Rapid Response Team (RRT) of the command cracked down at the suspects, he said the recovered cables, according to him belongs to the State Water and Sewerage Corporation (TAWASCO).
The commandant who admitted that the arrest was in collaboration with the men of the vigilantes, said the command would not rest on its oars until hoodlums are flushed out of the state.
The NSCDC said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
Assuring residents of the state a hitch-free yuletide, no fewer than 1,550 NSCDC officers, he said have been deployed to the nooks and crannies of the state to forestall any outbreak of law and order during and after the festivities.
He asked the public not to hesitate to make available to the command, genuine information that would lead to the arrest of persons perpetrating evil in the state.
