THE Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Istifanus Gyang, on Monday, accused the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, of denying opposition figures access to the state-owned media outfits.

He also accused the governor lacking respect for the rule of law.

Gyang, a first term Senator, elected on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, said this while speaking in Jos, at the petty trading empowerment programme for 600 widows and award of scholarship for 500 students which he organised for beneficiaries across the 73 wards of his constituency, on Monday.

Gyang said, “The mandate given to me as Senator, I hold it dearly and I know the expectation of our people and that is why we are not leaving any sector behind. Yesterday (Sunday), We commenced the commissioning of the education infrastructure in all the six LGAs that make up Plateau North.

“Very soon, we will go into economic infrastructure and commission three markets in the constituency to boost rural economy.”
