Thomas Tuchel has added at least eight new players from Chelsea’s academy to first-team training ahead of their Carabao Cup tie with Brentford on Wednesday.
Chelsea’s XI has been depleted by injuries and COVID-19 in the past weeks.
The German boss had earlier revealed that seven players in his first team were unavailable due to coronavirus but the Premier League rejected their request to postpone their Premier League match against Wolves on Sunday.
The new players include Harvey Vale, Josh Brooking, Alfie Gilchrist, Dion Rankine, Xavier Simons, Joe Haigh, Jay Wareham and Lewis Hall.
Also, Jorginho, who missed the trip to Wolves because of a precaution, was able to return to training on Monday.
Ross Barkley, Malang Sarr and Kepa Arrizabalaga were also involved.
