The Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Emmanuel Ocheja has charged personnel of the command to uphold high ethical, moral pedigree and professionalism in the discharge of their statutory assignments and interaction with the members of the public.
Commandant Ocheja gave this charge recently during the presentation of certificates of psychological fitness to arm bearing personnel of the command who had successfully passed the mandatory assessment and fitness examination for officers bearing arms.
While explaining the cardinal objectives of the assessment and the importance of the certificates, the Osun NSCDC boss disclosed that since it was not business as usual.
He warned that any officer who has not been psychologically assessed or failed the test would be redeployed to other departments and units where they can give their best.
He noted that the assessment was part of efforts of the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi to reposition the corps to conform with what is obtainable globally and in line with the global best practices.
The Head of Forensic and Behavioural Unit of the Command, Deputy Superintendent of Corp Stephen Oyebode while advising the successful personnel to see their fitness as a call to higher service urged them to present themselves for psychological assessment and evaluation periodically for the sake of human security as contained in the certificates they have been issued.
The qualified arms bearing personnel successfully passed a mandatory psychological assessment and fitness examination which was conducted on November 3, 2021.
