Chairman of the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Services, Mr. Olumuyiwa Ogunmilade has charged workers of the Agency to rededicate themselves to duties towards achieving optimal service delivery in the new year.

Mr. Ogunmilade who gave the charge in Ado Ekiti reiterated the commitment of the State Government to generate enough revenue internally to cater for the basic needs of the people adding that the focus is to reduce dependency on the federation account.

Ogunmilade noted that robust Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) could be used for the social contract and infrastructural development in a state, adding that it helps the government responsible in satisfying the basic needs of the people.

Assuring that the government would continue to make the welfare of staff a priority, Ogunmilade stressed the need for workers to live up to their responsibilities and justify the confidence and huge investment in them by striving towards achieving the desired goals.

He advised the IRS workers to always be professional in the course of their duties, adding that they should be focused and make diligence and honesty their watchwords.

The IRS boss also solicited the continued support of taxpayers to efforts of the government at developing the state, stressing that no taxpayer should patronize touts and must pay their taxes directly to the bank.
