Guinea-Bissau midfielder, Judilson Mamadu Tuncará Gomes, known as ‘Pele’, has reacted to Nigeria’s 2-0 win against Guinea-Bissau at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Wednesday.

Pele, who currently plays for Monaco football club, said Guinea-Bissau are disappointed with the outcome of the AFCON tie, adding that there is no shame in losing to a big team like the Super Eagles.

Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau, thanks to goals from Sadiq Umar and captain, William Troost-Ekong.

“We are disappointed to be going home this early, but I don’t think there is any shame in losing to a big side like Nigeria,” Pele told Complete Sports.

“Playing at the AFCON has been a remarkable experience for us and we can take a lot of positives from the three games we played here.

“We hope to qualify for the next edition in the Ivory Coast and hopefully put up a better performance.”
