Trade Nigeria believes that Nigeria’s textile industry should have been better than what it is today if much has been done in the sector.
the president of the organization Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George believes that just like other countries in Africa and around the world, Nigeria’s textile industry has a historic significance that can sell, but the industry has generally failed to capitalize on that.

“There have been several factors that have been causing the sector setbacks and what we want to do is find a way to solve them with globally accepted solutions”
“Giant of Africa is a realistic title we earned because of our abilities and potentials and what we want to do in the textile industry scale it up with the other sub-sectors like fashion, leather, wool, and cotton”, he said.
He revealed that alongside Globe Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Trade Nigeria is packing a ‘World Textile Expo’ expected to feature World Shoe Expo; United Nations Fashion Week; Commonwealth Fashion Week; Global Fashion Week; All Nations Fashion Week; World Garment; Leather Industries and Textile Expo.
He further stated that they are presently working on the perfect date and venue for the event, adding that their full plan has just one goal, which is to reinvent the Nigeria Textile Industry and make it globally relevant.
“Despite having a tight calendar already, we have spotted this sector as one that needed genuine intervention”
“There is so much we can do to make the direct sector viable, as well as other strategies to inject life into the sub-sectors of the industry.”, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George said.
