Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has reacted to the ongoing fight between former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, his successor, Gboyega Oyetola and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

DAILY POST reported earlier that Aregbesola, who is the current Minister of Interior, had attacked his leader, Tinubu, saying the former Lagos Governor has assumed the position of God, vowing that God will bring him down.

Aregbesola, Osun State governor from 2010 to 2018, and Oyetola, who is seeking a reelection, have been at loggerheads for sometime over the control of the APC organs in the State. Both politicians belong to the same ruling APC.

Aregbesola, while addressing party faithful at Ijebu Jesa, had declared support for former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti, in Saturday’s governorship primary, and vowed to give Oyetola the Akinwunmi Ambode treatment.

DAILY POST recalls that Ambode was sent out of office as Lagos State governor after just one term in 2019 due to intra-party squabbles.

The minister declared war against his erstwhile political mentors and associates who are supporting Oyetola for a reelection, including APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu and ex-Osun governor, Bisi Akande.

Shehu Sani, who was a member of the ninth Senate, noted in a tweet, “When Governors are on seat, they want to control everything and everyone. When Governors are out of power, they want to control their successors and that is when the war of independence begins.”
