Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State, Iyadim Amboni Iyadim has called on the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to beware as there are fake certificates of origin of the local government in circulation.

Speaking when he visited the Comptroller of Immigration Service in Calabar, the state capital, today, Chris Baikie, Iyadim urged NIS passport officials to liaise with his council in order to avoid fake certificates of origin from applicants.

He explained that many of the originals were carted away by hoodlums who hijacked the certificates during the EndSARS protest in October 2020 and vandalised the council secretariat.
