Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state on Wednesday handed over power to his deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna who will now govern the state In an acting capacity.
The state commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who made the disclosure in a press statement on Wednesday, said Governor Ganduje has flown to the United Arab Emirate, where to attend an Investment Summit being facilitated by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF).
He said the deputy governor has been empowered to act in a full acting capacity, pending his return to Kano.
The statement directed all Commissioners, heads of extra-ministerial departments, top government functionaries, corporate bodies and individuals to recognize and cooperate, with the acting governor.
It further noted that issues seeking the attention of the governor should be communicated to the Office of the Acting Governor.
