Taking on the theme of this year’s commemoration which is ‘BREAK THE BIAS’, Mrs Ortom charged women to come together to create a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination towards achieving the reality of a Gender Equal World.

She noted that “in Benue State, progress has been recorded in creating space for women in the private and public spheres. However, the need gap remains wider and demands responsive actions from all to close the existing socio-economic gaps. It should be our collective responsibility and desire to see a Benue that is diverse, equitable, inclusive that presents equal opportunities for all citizens.

“Therefore, let us all rise to the occasion in one voice, a loving heart, through collective efforts to eliminate all forms of Social, Political, Cultural and Religious restrictions that hinder women’s development and progress. We need the support of all to foster equality for our daughters, sisters, wives, mothers and friends.

“The possibility lies in your hands! Choose to make progress, don’t be the barrier!!!
