Manchester United board has identified priority £100m rated striker, Harry Kane, to sign this summer, The Athletic reports.

Man United’s hierarchy is fearful of Dortmund’s Erling Haaland joining Manchester City this summer and feel they must make a marquee signing of their own in response.

With Mason Greenwood still suspended after his arrest, Anthony Martial loaned out, Marcus Rashford struggling and Edinson Cavani leaving, Man United have identified a new striker as the position they need to strengthen most.

As a result, the Premier League giants have now reignited their interest in Kane, a player they have tried unsuccessfully to lure to the club on several occasions in the past.

Man United’s chiefs are eyeing a club-record move for Kane, who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur, irrespective of who they decide to appoint as their next manager.

The Old Trafford club are currently in the process of interviewing candidates to succeed interim manager Ralf Rangnick, with the Red Devils hoping to have a new striker ahead of next season.

Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino are the two frontrunners to replace Rangnick.
