Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has rated high, the role being played by the conventional media as good partners in progress in the social and economic development of the state.

This hint was dropped in Gusau, Zamfara State capital by the State’s Commissioner of Information, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara while receiving members of the NUJ correspondents’ chapel book writing committee.

Dosara explained that the media, particularly those working in the state, have demonstrated a high sense of professionalism in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities, especially in handling issues of security.

The Commissioner explained that the governor is ever committed to working hand in hand with the media and is also ready to confide in the media for partnership in an effort to upgrade the economic profile of the state.

Earlier, the chairman of the book writing committee Mallam Abba Abubakar Kabara, told the commissioner that the NUJ has closely observed, assessed and evaluated the stewardship of the governor and believes it is relevant to “record, document and showcase it to the outside world.

He thanked the governor for the recognition accorded the conventional media in general and to the working journalists in the state which according to him, “was the elements that formed the foundation for the healthy fraternal press/government working relationship in the state.
