Interim coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, has been warned about Emmanuel Dennis’ selfish style of play by ex-Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure.

Dennis has been recalled to the Nigeria national team by Eguavoen for the 2022 World Cup playoffs against Ghana.

This invitation was extended to the Watford star despite his decision to shun the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

In the past, ex-Eagles coach Gernot Rohr froze him out, questioning his attitude and discipline.

Toure, who was analysing Watford’s 3-2 defeat to Arsenal last weekend, has now sent a timely reminder to Eguavoen.

“Dennis is the top scorer and he looks very much the player who can hurt Arsenal but he appears to be playing for himself.

“He doesn’t put in enough work without the ball and even during kickoff, he didn’t take the knee with the rest of the team. He can do more for the team,” Toure told English Premier League Productions
