Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has tasked the newly turbaned Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr Alimi AbdulRazq, to deploy his wealth of experience and believe in human development in the discharge of his duties to the people of the Emirate and the state in general.

Professor Osinbajo gave the charge in his speech during the turbarning ceremony by the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari at the Emir’s Place in Ilorin, Kwara State on Friday.

He described the title as an illustrious one that has found a natural home in his personality based on his great belief in humanity.

The Vice President said Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq’s “compassion and belief for human dignity stands him out.”

He noted that his accomplishments in law and education and so many others are testaments to the quality of Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq.

Professor Osinbajo explained that in most cases people are placed in the position of authority where they cannot discharge their duties, adding that the repercussion is sharp and enduring as it diminishes the man and the office.

Professor Osinbajo commended the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for conferring the title on a worthy ambassador of the state.

In his address, the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, said the title was given to the recipient based on his contributions to humanity.

He urged him to redouble his efforts in bringing more development to the people of the Emirate.

In his remark, the newly Turbaned Mutawalli of Ilorin, Dr, Alimi AbdulRazaq, said he will bridge the gap by using his wealth of experience in the discharge of his duties.

He assured that he will use his resources to support the people of the Emirate.

Eminent dignitaries at the turbaning ceremony include the state Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq and his Deputy, Kayode Alabi, the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja 11, and the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Malete, KWASU, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi.

Also present were first class traditional rulers across the three Senatorial Districts of the state, Senator Sanusi Dagash, wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs Bola Obasanjo, Bola Shagaya, Dr Shola Adegbitan, Chairman First Bank and publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu.
