Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has asked those aspiring for the office of Nigerian president in 2023 to deviate from faking emotions during the campaign.
In a recent tweet on his verified Twitter handle on Monday, the Kaduna State governorship aspirant said such a move is capable of deceiving the electorate and putting the nation in pestilence, affliction, sorrow and suffering.
The former lawmaker named the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu; Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and others as those to take note.
According to him, the presidential aspirants are not expected to be shedding tears and carrying handkerchiefs as strategies during the campaign.
The tweet reads, “Presidential candidates should avoid shedding tears and moving about with white handkerchiefs as a campaign strategy, it leads a nation to pestilence, affliction, sorrow and suffering.
