Bandits on Monday, abducted a University student and one other person at Gwantu Kurmi community, the headquarters of the Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The bandits also injured one other person, who was taken into an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

This was contained in a statement by the President, Gwantu People’s Progressive Union, Prince Bala Audu.

According to him, “Joshua Victor Arumbus of the Department of Architecture, Kaduna State University, and a passer-by, Mr. Simon, were kidnapped, while one person was critically injured.”

He said the armed men stormed the community on Saturday at around 9:13pm on foot and started shooting indiscriminately at the residents.

He expressed fear over increasing incidents of kidnapping within Sanga Local Government and called on the security agencies to improve on their response to distress calls from the communities.

He also called on Kaduna State Government to take drastic measures in curtailing the security menace ravaging the state.
