Governor Hope Uzodinma on Tuesday received executives from the Best of Nollywood (BON) who came on a courtesy visit to the state.

Their visit was prompted by the 2022 edition of the National BON Award which is scheduled to hold in the state.

The governor on receiving the executives stated that this was a welcome development as the entertainment industry has been of economic value in the state.

“The contribution of the entertainment industry to Imo State’s economic and social growth cannot be underestimated”

“Having been identified as a sector largely dominated by the youths, we have continued to improve on developing the sector to offer greater career opportunities for Imo Youths while attracting investors into the State”

He further stated that the visit shows the impressive measure the state has put in place for the growth of the entertainment industry in the state.

“This has been possible as a result of the impressive measures we have implemented towards the growth of the industry vis-a-vis security, transparency in governance, and conducive atmosphere”, he said”,

He assured the team members of their security and support from the state for the success of their program.

“As delighted as we are in hosting this year’s National BON Awards, I have assured them of the State’s support towards the success of the program even as we anticipate massive winnings by Imo Entertainers”.

Bon award is an annual film event presented by Best of Nollywood Magazine honoring outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry.
