The Chairman of Imo State Council of Tradition Rulers His Royal Majesty HRM Eze (Dr.) Emmanuel Okeke (Eze Udo II of Amaifeke Ancient Kingdom) has hailed the founders of Face of Igbo Heritage Legend International Foundation for their moves towards the revitalization of Igbo culture and tradition.
Eze Okeke who spoke during an interactive session with members of the organization said that their efforts to promote Igbo culture and traditions deserve commendation, while also assuring them of his support for their project Face of Igbo Heritage Legend Awards FIHLA.
The Amaifeke monarch said that language, culture, and tradition are the soul of any group of people, adding that it’s preservation and revitalization are as important as the survival of the people as a group.
Speaking on issues bordering the Igbo Nation, the Eze Udo II of Amaifeke Ancient Kingdom , Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State said that the quest to revitalize Igbo language, culture, and tradition requires collective efforts from homes, schools, churches, traditional institutions, government, non-governmental organizations, and well-meaning individuals.
FIHLA which is a project designed to celebrate outstanding Igbos at home and abroad is one of the projects of the Face of Igbo Heritage Legend International Foundation according to the founder, Mazi Uzochukwu Nkweatu.
Mazi Nkweatu, said that beyond the appreciation and celebration FIHLA will be riding on, it is also important to unveil men and women who have been flying the Igbo flag globally, adding that there is no better way to inspire the coming generations to do greater things.
He hailed Eze Emmanuel Okeke for the outstanding leadership he has brought to the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, praying for the monarch to have a very peaceful reign.
