His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma warns against illegal possession of land by any individual in the state.
The governor stated that this address was made as a result of the raging alarm by Imolites over this issue.
“Disturbingly, I have observed the continued practice of land grabbing across the State by some people under different guises. Let me state unequivocally that, apart from government agencies and institutions, I have not allotted any land to any individual since I assumed office as the Executive Governor of Imo State,” he said,
Governor Uzodimma made it clear that the Federal Government or any other Federal Agency cannot and will not allocate lands in the State without due process.
He stated that he has never taken any land or instructed that any individual`s land be taken away from them.
“since I emerged as the Governor, I have not allocated any land to anyone including myself, and therefore I warn against illegal acquisition of lands without clearing with the Ministry of Lands in the State”.
The Governor further disclosed that even the communities have no power to allocate lands and properties to anyone especially those who claim to have MoU with the Communities.
Governor Uzodimma enjoined Imolites to follow due process in acquiring landed properties as Government will come calling for all State-owned properties.
