US national security adviser Jake Sullivan has warned that Russia’s new war commander in Ukraine, Gen.Alexander Dvornikov will carry out further brutal attacks on civilians.

DAILY POST reported that President Vladimir Putin at the weekend appointed General Dvornikov, to be in charge of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Dvornikov was until his new appointment the commander of Russia’s Southern Military District.

The Army General, 60, according to CNN, was the first commander of Russia’s military operations in Syria.

Dvornikov is said to have extensive combat experience and will provide a level of coordination to the assault on Ukraine.

“This particular general has a resume that includes brutality against civilians in other theatres, in Syria, and we can expect more of the same in this theatre,”
Sullivan told CNN.

“This general will just be another author of crimes and brutality against Ukrainian civilians.”
