Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been told to resign following his collection of nomination forms to contest the presidential election under the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Emefiele picked the form on Friday at the International Conference Center, Abuja and is reportedly set to declare his intention on Saturday.

This development has stirred reactions on social media as Nigerians condemned the fact that a sitting Governor of the CBN is partisan.

@Editieffiong “ IG of Police or Chief of Army Staff could decide to run for president while actively commanding thousands of armed personnel, and nothing would happen. This is the precedent being set by Emefiele.”
